Elephant Manglu want his Trunk Back

Once upon a time there was an elephant. His name was Manglu. Manglu was living in a beautiful forest. The forest was full of fruit trees as mangoes, bananas, oranges and more. There was also a beautiful river flowing through the forest . The river was full of sweet water.

Manglu used to wake up early in the river. He goes to the river. He takes a bath and then he enjoys himself with sweet water. Then he used to go to the fruit trees and enjoys bananas, oranges and other sweet fruits of his choice. After eating, he then used to sleep under the sun. Life was beautiful.

One evening Manglu was thinking about his life and started praying, " Hey God! this life is no fun. Everyday I eat the same fruits, the same water and sit under the same sun. There is no change and no excitement. Please do something to make my life exciting." Praying like this Manglu went to sleep.

Next morning Manglu woke up and went to the river and had his bath and went to forest to eat fruits. Oh! WHAT is this? All the trees were very high. Manglu was not able reach the fruits. Every time he jumped to get the fruits, his trunk shrunk a little bit. He kept on jumping and his trunk kept on shrinking. At the END, Manglu was an ELEPHANT without a TRUNK.

Manglu started crying, "Houn, Houn.... I want my trunk back. hiin ,hiin, hiin I want my trunk back. I am hungry too. I want my trunk back and I want fruits to eat. Houn,Houn....... I want my trunk back" Crying and weeping like this Manglu went to sleep Hungry.

In his dream, GOD appeared and asked why he is crying. Manglu told all the sequence of events to God and said, "I WANT MY TRUNK BACK." God said, " You are the one who wanted excitement in your life. This is one. You can get your truck back only if you can eat the fruits from those trees in the forest. Otherwise you will never get your trunk back." God disappeared and Manglu woke up.

Manglu went near the banana tree and and started crying, " I WANT MY TRUNK BACK." But no banana fell down which he could eat to get his trunk back. He started crying more loudly, by going under apple, orange and other trees. But nothing happened.

Soon Manglu realized crying will not help him getting fruits from the tree and hence getting his trunk back. He started thinking, " How I can he get fruits from those tall trees. They are so high". Then he saw a Monkey high up in the tree eating the fruits. Manglu got an idea. May be I can climb up the tree and eat the fruits. Manglu started climbing up the tree. But can a Elephant CLIMB up the tree? NO. He fell on his back and started crying, " I WANT MY TRUNK BACK......"

Then Manglu saw a bird eating fruits on the top of the tree. Manglu got an Idea. May be he can fly up the tree and can eat fruits. Manglu tried to flap his ears as hard as he can, but he was no DUMBO and was not able to fly at all. He started crying again, " I WANT MY TRUNK BACK...."

Manglu realized, copying other animals will not help him get his trunk back. He will have to do something himself. He will have to invent some method which will suit him not a monkey or a bird. He was thinking and thinking and thinking because he need to get his TRUNK BACK....

Manglu though he is powerful, he may just push the tree to get the fruits. Wow that is a good Idea, Manglu thought. So he went and start pushing a big tree, very close to its root. He was pushing and pushing and pushing. But the tree was not moving at all and he was not getting any fruits. He kept on moving up and pushing but tree was quite big for Manglu. Manglu started crying again, " I WANT MY TRUNK BACK....".

All of a sudden Manglu saw two trees, very close to each other and full of fruits. Manglu knew what he was going to do. He squeezed himself between those two tall , but little bit thin trees. Then he started pushing back and forth. All of a sudden a lot of fruit fell down . Manglu happily ate a lot of them . Every time he ate a fruit , his trunk started growing. Very soon he got his TRUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNK BACK. He was very happy and started jumping with joy, " I GOT MY TRUNK BACK!! I GOT MY TRUNK BACK!!!!! I GOT MY TRUNK BACK......"

As Manglu was happy as well as tired from the whole day work, he went to sleep early. In his dream, God appeared again and asked, " Manglu , how did you like your day? Was it better or the other days in your life were better?" Manglu said, " Today was the best day of my life. When one uses his mind and body to get something, it brings more happiness. Please bring more challenges each day in my life, so I keep on using my body and mind, but Please DO NOT TAKE MY TRUNK BACK........"

After that day Manglu lived happily ever after by using his mind and body to fight new challenges everyday.
